Gourmet pizza on an islet

An interesting new acquaintance to Helsinki's pizza-scene is Restaurant Skiffer. Located on an idyllic islet in front of the city central, they offer a different take on your everyday pizzeria- experience. A wide variety of unorthodox toppings makes this place a find among the mainstream pizzerias in Finland. Take for example smoked vendace or a poached egg, you don't find these too often at your corner pizzerias menu.

Pizza Seafood: smoked vendace, coldsmoked salmon, fennel and a poached egg.

We enjoyed a a couple of pies (or flaps as they call them) on a sunny afternoon and the overall experience was very delightful. If you desire an upscale pie, navigate your way to cordinates 60° 09N 24° 95 E or hop on to a ferry from Kaivopuisto. These babies are availabe also at Tahkovuori and Chalong Bay, Phuket.

A Perfect Hamburger

Hamburger, the most classic fast food of them all. I personally love hamburgers. I tend to eat them too often, but what can you do, they are so delicious. Today we're not talking about your everyday Mickey Dee's or Wendy's. This far the most exciting hamburger I've eaten is a marvelous creation by Chef Daniel Boulud.

The original DB Burger
THE ORIGINAL db BURGER:Sirloin Burger Filled with Braised Short Ribs & Foie Gras, served on a Parmesan Bun.

All the basic elements of a burger are there, but the twist of Chef Boulud, makes it pure luxury. Even the fries served with this monster, tasted extraordinaryly good. Accompanied condiments were Mayo, Ketchup and Dijon Mustard. Of course the ingredients of the burger makes it quite expensive, but after enjoying one of these, you know it's worth it.

I enjoyed mine at DB - Bistro Moderne in The Marina Bay Sands -shoppingmall, Singapore.
